I recently attended the Extreme Leadership Summit in Chicago, hosted by Steve Farber, Author of the Radical Leap, The Radical Leap Re-energized and Greater Than Yourself. His books are parables that make the point of his message. It is a really fun way to learn amazing leadership philosophies.
LEAP stands for Love, Energy, Audacity and Proof:
- Love – “Do what you love to do in service to people who love what you do.” Gee, does that sound like me??
- Energy – “An engaged workforce is energetic”. Engaging your workforce, your team starts with understanding their gifts, their talents, their passion and aligning them with the companies. (Ask me about The Passion Test for Business.)
- Audacity – “Defies normal constraints. It is doing something that could change the world that blows your customers minds, that is noble in intent and courageous in scope.” Starting with all of the above action and ensuring your team is fully aware that you and your organization are living this way.
- Proof – Is demonstrating that you personally live the philosophy, that you are setting the example for others to be an extreme leader and showing them the way. Walk the talk – right!
We have long heard that you want to groom people to take your place in a company. It’s been called succession planning. In extreme leadership it is called, “Greater Than Yourself”. Help someone you know to be greater than you, share all of your knowledge, contacts, & support with them. First you must be the best you can be at being an extreme leader, then share all you have to make them “greater than yourself”.
This is a lot of great information, consolidated into a very short article. Read Steve’s books. You will see how they are completely and totally in sync with what I teach and strive to be. I am the teacher, living the teachings and we teach what we want to learn.
If you want to join me, let me know, I am here to support you. The journey is fantastically FUN!
With love and passion;
